Quick Briefing:

Q: What are all those files and types ?

A: The files are compressed with ZIP archive. You can decompress those files , by using the pkunzip.exe from DOS or the WinZip from Windows. The extracted file will be someone from the type category. The file-types XM, MOD, S3M are music formats which contain information about the handling of samples (iff, wav, smp) and music patterns.

Q: How can I hear those music files on my PC ?

A: For that , you need a player-program which can play those formats. You can use various players for various platforms like DOS, Win3.1, Win95-98, Win NT, Unix, Amiga, Mac and UNIX. One of the best player ever for DOS is the Cubic Player which can play alot of formats, even a mp3 and wav. For Win3.1 you can use the MOD4WIN , a very quality player. Win95/98/NT have the latest players like WinAmp , ModPlug etc.

Q: Where can I find all those players without serfing arround and reading useless informations ?

A: The best place for music programs is the MAZ homepage
